Reflection #2

Reflection on Local Education and Family Involvement by: Amanda Rodriguez For my presentation I decided to research local education and the role that families play in student learning within the community. This topic stood out to me because it helped me understand how education is not just about textbooks and classroom lessons. Instead I learned that education depends on the connection between home life schools teachers and support systems in the community. Local education is personal because it affects real students in real neighborhoods including students like me. Researching this topic allowed me to see how families influence academic motivation confidence emotional well being and success in school. In this reflection I will explain how I researched local education what I learned about schools in the Miami Dade area how I used Copilot responsibly and how this project helped me grow as a student and a thinker. I began by researching what local education looks like in the Miami D...

Reflection on National Education and Family Involvement  by: Daniela Fernandez  For my section of the presentation I focused on national education and how families across the United States play a major role in the success of students. At first I thought education mostly depended on what teachers did inside the classroom but through my research I realized that national education is deeply connected to families policies communities cultures and resources that exist across the country. This topic helped me understand that education in the United States is not the same everywhere. It changes depending on where people live how much support students receive at home and how the government decides to create and fund educational programs. In this reflection I explain how I researched national education what I learned about different areas across the country how I used Copilot responsibly and how this project helped me grow as a thinker and a student. I started my research by studying h...

Reflection #2

Morgan McShan My Reflection on Class Presentations It was important for me to research the topic of family and education for my presentation because it helped me understand how the home environment and academic development are connected in a complicated way. I had to look at the assignment from a lot of different angles, including historical background, community and organizational involvement, views from both American and global contexts, and personal responses from regular people. I was also supposed to use Copilot to help me with the research and presentation-building parts of the project. I realized that researching family and education is not just about gathering facts; it's also about figuring out how schools and homes affect each other and how society affects both. This reflection talks about how I did my research, how I used Copilot responsibly, what I learned from looking at things from different points of view, and how the project helped me understand the topic better an...

Class Blog Reflection: What I Learned from Each Group Presentation Over the past few weeks, our class worked in groups to create and deliver presentations about how to become better speakers. Each group had a unique topic that focused on a different part of the presentation process. Listening to all of them helped me see how every stage from planning to presenting matters if you want to make a real connection with your audience. I was part of Group 4 , but every group’s presentation gave me something valuable to think about. In this blog, I’m going to reflect on what I learned from each group and how all the topics came together to show what makes a presentation truly successful. Group 1: “The Important Tricks for a Great Presentation” Group 1 started off strong with their topic, which focused on the small but powerful “tricks” that make a presentation stand out. They explained that the best presenters don’t just know their material they know how to deliver it. Their main poi...

Class Reflection Blog: Public Speaking Presentations By Daniela Fernandez This week’s group presentations were not only informative but also really inspiring. Every group did such a great job breaking down their assigned chapters and turning them into something fun and easy to understand. You could tell right away that everyone put in effort, time, and creativity. It wasn’t just about reading from the slides everyone really understood what they were teaching and found ways to connect with the audience. I honestly learned something new from each group, and it made me appreciate how much we’ve all grown as public speakers throughout this class. The first group covered chapters 1, 2, 3, and 5, which focused on the important tricks for giving a great presentation. They did such a strong job setting the tone for all the presentations that followed. They explained what public speaking really means and how it has evolved over time, and they gave great tips on how to build confide...

Education + Families = Student Success College success is not just a matter of hard work. It is determined by two powerful forces that happen to go together: the quality of education and the family support network. Both of them combined provide a platform on which students are not only able to get through college, but to thrive. How Education Builds Opportunity Education is more than attending class or earning good grades—it's the door to possibilities and a means of breaking cycles of poverty. Research conducted by the U.S. Department of Education shows that individuals who attain higher education are more likely to: Earn greater lifetime incomes. Have access to improved health care and benefits. Be active in civic life (e.g., voting and volunteer work). But it doesn't always work. There must be support systems that help them along, and that's where families come into the picture. The Role Families Play in Helping Students Succeed Families have a huge impact on students...

Kyla Diaz - Reflection #1

Reflection on Class Presentations Project Manager As a project manager my perspective on these presentations varied vastly from the rest of the class. I oversaw Group 4 and aided them with tips, skills, and support. The focus of the presentations was presentations themselves. The understanding of what a presentation is, as well as public speaking in itself. The art of talking to the public. How to speak and what to say. On top of my collaboration with the group, I had the task of presenting the group to the class. In my speech I gave a brief summary on the chapters that the group was presenting and expressed sentiment on the importance of public speaking skills. Group 1 The first group to present tends to always have tension. They are the first, which means they are setting up the standard. The groups next to present will more than likely change up their presentations to match up the standard or even surpass it. I believe group 1 did an excellent job presenting. Despite the high pressu...
