Kyla Diaz - Reflection #1

Reflection on Class Presentations Project Manager As a project manager my perspective on these presentations varied vastly from the rest of the class. I oversaw Group 4 and aided them with tips, skills, and support. The focus of the presentations was presentations themselves. The understanding of what a presentation is, as well as public speaking in itself. The art of talking to the public. How to speak and what to say. On top of my collaboration with the group, I had the task of presenting the group to the class. In my speech I gave a brief summary on the chapters that the group was presenting and expressed sentiment on the importance of public speaking skills. Group 1 The first group to present tends to always have tension. They are the first, which means they are setting up the standard. The groups next to present will more than likely change up their presentations to match up the standard or even surpass it. I believe group 1 did an excellent job presenting. Luis Gonzalez: Reflection

Luis Gonzalez Reflection on Class Presentations We had four groups present in class and honestly it was better than I expected. Each group had their own chapters and everyone explained their parts in their own way. Some groups stood out more than others but overall everybody did solid.  Group 1 Group 1 was probably the cleanest. They went up there and it just flowed smooth the whole time. Everyone knew their part and there were no awkward pauses or stumbles. The way they spoke made it easy to follow along. You could tell they practiced and it showed. Group 2 Group 2 had a lot of energy. One dude especially kept engaging with the audience and it made the presentation feel less like a lecture and more like a conversation. That stood out to me because it kept people paying attention the whole time. Their delivery had life to it and that made their group memorable. Group 3 Group 3 did good too. They kept things organized and their points were clear. Each person did their part...

Morgan McShan - Reflection #1

Morgan McShan My Reflection on Class Presentations      I was initially nervous about the idea of giving presentations, but as we learned different aspects of public speaking, such as organizing a speech and adjusting to an audience, I realized the lessons went beyond the classroom. The experience not only helped me grow as a speaker but also taught me to listen and appreciate the work of others. In the end, I found the talks far more enjoyable than I expected, as each presentation was unique, sometimes humorous, inspiring, or even uncomfortable, but always authentic and meaningful. The Changing Craft of Oral Communication      Before this session, I thought public speaking was just reciting notes and trying not to look foolish, but after watching my peers, I realized it is much more dynamic and impactful. Many used personal stories, humor, or visuals to connect with the audience, showing me that public speaking is about leaving an impression rather than j...
